Panel makes perfect sense
Re Assisted death panel stacked, Letter July 21 Reader Susan Bracken asks if it makes sense for a three-person panel to discuss the implementation of “assisted dying” to include two people against it. I would argue it makes perfect sense. It’s more likely to provide recommendations that meet the Supreme Court’s decision in the most limited way possible, which would provide better safeguards for the vulnerable, such as the elderly or disabled, compared to a panel wanting a very liberal interpretation.
