The New Yorker staffer’s contributi­ons to the magazine are reliably funny. She’s what we old-timers used to call a real card. Why did we call funny people that? I can’t remember. Dwindling memory, plunging IQ and other age-related deficits are the subject of her investigat­ion. It doesn’t sound amusing, but it is.
