Senate hypocrisy on CBC

Re Find new money, Senate tells CBC, July 21 Does anyone else think that the Senate report on CBC funding is the height of hypocrisy? The Senate is telling the CBC to find new ways of funding while the Senate is rocked by a financial scandal.

In what world do senators have any right to suggest fiscal controls? It would be appropriate if the Senate was funded by private sponsorship programs, or how about crowd-funding? Or how about just abolishing it altogether?

This smacks of Stephen Harper’s intervention and his well-known dislike of the fairness of CBC reporting and public ownership in general. His minions in the Senate just do his bidding anyway. Stephen L. Bloom, Toronto
