Saks Fifth Avenue will open its recruitment centre this holiday Monday, to fill 365 full- and part-time jobs at two new Toronto stores.

The Saks stores are scheduled to open in early 2016 at Toronto Eaton Centre (TEC) and Sherway Gardens. They will be the first Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Canada.

The positions include selling managers, support managers, sales and support staff, personal shoppers, merchandisers, stylists, client services, alterations, asset protection and greeters, among others.

The Saks recruitment centre will be at 401Bay St., on the 6th floor.

“Our motto is to ‘hire the smile and train the skill,’ ” said Kathleen Ruiz, senior vice president marketing and public relations, Saks Fifth Avenue.

She said some of the best sales consultants at Saks are former teachers, realtors, actors, hotel concierges, pharmaceutical sales reps, bartenders, baristas and other hospitality industry workers. Having a flair for fashion and an ability to successfully outfit a customer from head to toe is an asset, she added.

“The goal of the recruitment centre is to maximize convenience and entice candidates to apply in person. We’re hoping that those interested in the centre who remain in the Toronto area on Monday will be able to stop by during their free time,” said Ruiz.

The Eaton Centre Saks store is scheduled to open in February of 2016 followed by Sherway Gardens location.

Nordstrom is expected to open its first stores in Toronto, at TEC and Yorkdale, in the fall of 2016.
