The “Save the Tax” deal amounts to savings worth up to $350 per couple, for travel Aug. 10 to Oct. 31. Destinations include Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. In Puerto Plata, the VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort is just down the road from Playa Dorada Golf Course, and guests get discounts on green fees for two or more rounds. Dining deals in the Big Easy COOLinary New Orleans Restaurant Month runs Saturday to Aug. 30 with fixed-price dining deals at more than 60 restaurants. Lunches go for $20 (U.S.) per person or less and dinners for $39 per person or less. New this year, brunch is on the menu too, for $39 per person or less. Several of the Big Easy’s legendary dining venues are taking part, including Arnaud’s, Commander’s Palace and Antoine’s, the oldest French-Creole restaurant in the city and the birthplace of Oysters Rockefeller.

Park ’n go at New York City hotel If you’re driving to Manhattan for a New York City getaway, the first thing you want to do is park the car and get on with the sightseeing.
