Athletes village

-

It will be spring at the earliest before anyone actually moves into the village recently vacated by athletes. Cranes and trucks have been dismantling and moving out a quarter of a million items, from beanbag chairs to the dining tent. The yellow Pan Am signs have been removed from fences, providing a better look at the area. The athlete housing, which lacked kitchens and other finishes, is being converted into market-rate condos and George Brown student housing as well as public housing. The neighbourhood includes a new 82,000square-foot YMCA and space for shops, cafés and patios.
