The class of 2015 has joined an elite group of Blue Jays teams to win the American League East division. The Jays clinched the spot when they beat up on the Baltimore Orioles 15-2 during the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday.

1985 — Jays win with 99-62 record

While setting a franchise record for most wins that still stands, the Jays won the AL East with a 5-1 win over the New York Yankees after holding first place from May 20 onward.

After opening the American League Championship Series with two wins, the Jays lost Games 3, 5, 6 and 7 against the Kansas City Royals, ending with a crushing a 6-2 loss at Exhibition Stadium. The Royals would go on to win the World Series.

1989 — Jays win with 89-73 record

In the season that the Jays officially moved into the SkyDome, they took the division title with consecutive victories against the Baltimore Orioles on the final weekend of the season.

After a nightmare start to the year where the team, at one point, held a 12-24 record, the Jays clinched the title, only to lose to the Oakland Athletics 4-1 in the ALCS. The As would go on to win the World Series.

1991 — Jays win with 91-71 record

Three members of what would become the famous WAMCO lineup joined the Jays in the off-season (Devon White, Roberto Alomar and Joe Carter) and a record-breaking four million fans went to watch the team at the SkyDome.

On the last day of the regular season, the Jays came back to beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-5 and clinch the AL East title. Once again, however, they lost the ALCS, 4-1 to the Minnesota Twins. The Twins won the 1991 World Series.

1992 — Jays win with 96-66 record

A second consecutive AL East division title was secured with a 3-1 win against the Detroit Tigers.

They Jays handily dispatched Oakland 4-2 to win the ALCS for the first time. More significantly, this was the year the Jays won their first World Series title, beating the Atlanta Braves 4-2.

1993 — Jays win with 95-67 record

WAMCO peaked and the Blue Jays claimed the AL East title on Sept. 27, 1993 with a 2-0 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers on a chilly night on the road.

The team won the ALCS in six games, and went on to win its second of back-to-back World Series championships, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2.
