NFL Picks: Take Miami, and hang on to that dollar
THE PICKS
N.Y. Jets (pick) at Miami
NFL Network reporter Jeff Darlington was at the Miami game last week and interviewed Dolphins fan and famous tycoon Warren Buffett, who was in shoulder pads and a Dolphins jersey. At the end Darlington jokingly handed Buffett a dollar, and Buffett, no sucker, kept it. This has been a heavy-handed, confusing parable about investment capitalism, or something. Pick: Miami St. Louis (+7) at Arizona
Before the game in St. Louis last week, some pre-game fireworks set fire to the turf at the Edward Jones Dome, delaying the game. Look, we know that the possible Rams move is keeping the crowds small in St. Louis, but if you’re going to burn down the building for the insurance money do it on a weekday, man. Pick: Arizona Dallas (off) at New Orleans
My friend Pierre LeBrun is a huge Cowboys fan, but otherwise a wonderful person. Anyway, he had booked a trip to New Orleans to see his Cowboys play, and what is he going to get? Brandon Weeden versus either a sore-armed Drew Brees or Luke McCown. Luckily, the restaurants remain uninjured. Pick: Dallas
