Sensitive to the complaint that the current boxes were generic and disconnected from the thousands of communities in which they would be dropped, Partisans conceived mailboxes as graphic representations of the postal codes where they were installed. The letters and numbers also double as public space: a bench, maybe, or a transit stop, all while giving the experience of picking up the mail a homey specificity.
