perity for all, Opinion Oct. 2 Chrystia Freeland opines: “We are living in an age of winner-take-all economic forces. But ultimately our communities will thrive and our overall economy will grow only if we can harness them and create inclusive prosperity.”
It is no mere coincidence that our electoral politics is “winner-take-all” too. The one enables the other. Until we transform our democracy and make our parliaments truly inclusive we will continue to foster inequality benefiting the elite at the expense of the rest of us.
Every Canadian deserves a stakeholder’s seat at the table: our Charter right to equal legislative power. This is the first thing we need in order to attain and maintain equality in all its aspects. Mark Henschel, Toronto
