CAROL, ACTION HERO

-

Whether you think her character is a badass or just skilled at survival, here’s a look at some of Carol’s take-no-prisoners moments on The Walking Dead. Beware of spoilers.

“WILDFIRE”

This episode arguably gives us our first glimpse of the new Carol, a previously submissive wife cowed by her abusive husband, Ed. After Ed is killed, Daryl prepares to swing an axe at the corpse’s head to ensure he doesn’t turn into a zombie, but Carol takes the axe and does the bashing herself.

“THE GROVE”

When Carol, Tyreese and children Lizzie and Mika take refuge in an abandoned house, it becomes clear that Lizzie is seriously unhinged when she feeds walkers. After Lizzie stabs her sister to death to turn her into a zombie and threatens to do the same to baby Judith, Carol has to act. “Look at the flowers,” she tells Lizzie as she shoots her in the head.

“NO SANCTUARY”

Rick and the group are being held prisoner at the false sanctuary “Terminus” and about to be turned into cannibal meals. After Carol and Tyreese stumble on a member of the Terminus group, Carol steals his explosives and slathers herself in walker guts so she can get close enough to the compound to fire the rockets. The blasts enable Rick and the others to get away.

“FORGET”

The survivors are part of a new sanctuary in the gated community of Alexandria, but Rick, Carol and Michonne have hatched a plan to get their weapons back from lockup in case they need to stage a mutiny. Carol sneaks out of a party for the new arrivals to retrieve the weapons and when she’s caught red-handed by a little boy, she tells him he’ll end up tied to a tree being eaten alive by zombies if he rats her out.
