Blue Jays were great; fans, not so much
Re Police to probe trash tossing, Oct. 15 Game 5 of the Jays-Rangers series, and especially the seventh inning, will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most exciting baseball games that any baseball fan will ever dream of watching. The Blue Jays took a 6-3 victory to move to the ALCS against the Royals and as a Texas Rangers fan I offer my congratulations and wish them the best of luck moving forward. The team played a great series and, with the exception of Jose Bautista’s arrogant little bat flip, played with professionalism and dignity. I cannot say the same for the fans.
I hope the fans in Toronto are proud of the little hissy fit they threw just because they did not like a call. I hope that all those people who threw things on the field went home and proudly told their kids how they are immature, unsportsmanlike, classless idiots. Anthony Townsend, St. Paul, Texas
Some days I wonder if there really is a God, but after seeing the Texas Rangers make three consecutive errors after the botched call at home plate, I’ll be attending church this Sunday. Tom Scanlan, Toronto
