Kara Stahl and Ricky Furvais

- JANE WELOWSZKY SPECIAL TO THE STAR

Most adoring pet owners would do anything for their cherished companions, but could they speak for their furry or feathered or finned friends and tell us what they are thinking? To find out, we’re putting pet owners to the test with the personality questionnaire made famous by French novelist, Marcel Proust.

Meet Kara Stahl and Ricky Furvais.

While shopping for a new car two years ago, Stahl encountered a fluffy black cat wandering around the dealership. He was so charming that Stahl returned that night to see him, and again the next day. When employees confirmed he was a stray, “I went home with a cat instead of a car,” confesses Stahl.

As a longtime fan of the British sitcom The Office, with unabashed adoration for series creator and star Ricky Gervais, Stahl had no problem naming her new boy.

Though he has his own Twitter account, Ricky Furvais seems unfazed by all the attention. And while he leans toward indifference where his stepsister, Claire Beans (a giant ball of orange fluff ), is concerned, he enthusiastically showers Stahl’s boyfriend, his “positive male role model” Ted, with affection. What or who is the greatest love of Ricky’s life?

Fancy Feast. Specifically the cod, sole and shrimp pâté. I always buy expensive vet-recommended food, but the couple of times that Ricky has been really sick, the vet said just feed him anything he will eat. So I experimented with everything, but all he wants is Fancy Feast. It’s like kitty crack. Which living person does Ricky most admire?

Well that would have to be Ricky Gervais! My Ricky, of course, has a very dry, erudite sense of humour. Which talent would Ricky most like to have?

He would like to be a private detective because his favourite TV show is Murder She Meowed. He’s also a big fan of Meowtlock and MeowGyver. What does Ricky most dislike about his appearance?

I’d have to say nothing because he thinks he’s great. You could say he’s very metrosexual. He’s a handsome boy. What is the quality Ricky most likes in a man?

A good head of hair. What is the quality Ricky most likes in a woman?

Undying devotion. Who is Ricky’s hero of fiction?

A cat named Koko. There was a series of books written a long time ago by Lilian Jackson Braun — The Cat Who series. The main character wasn’t officially a private detective, but he always solved mysteries and he had a psychic cat named Koko. It always ended up being the cat that solved the mysteries in the end because he had psychic insight into who the evil murderer was. What is Ricky’s marked characteristic?

His fangs — the two fangs stick out so I call him a vam-purr. What is it that Ricky most dislikes?

Rectal thermometers. What does Ricky consider his greatest achievement?

Finding a new forever home where he is loved unconditionally and always safe. If you know exactly what your animal companion is thinking, email us at petpsyche@gmail.com and tell us why they should be profiled.
