But the show will go on in Versailles
Opera Atelier, in France to perform Armide at the Chateau de Versailles, will continue with its planned performances beginning Friday, it announced Monday.
“The Chateau de Versailles has asked us to continue with our performances as planned,” the company said in a statement. “We are humbled by the bravery and determination of the French people. We are so proud of all of our performers, creative team and administrative staff who have chosen to be here. By performing, we hope to reaffirm the civilizing impact of the arts.”
The opening performance will be dedicated to the victims of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris. There will be an address from Catherine Pé- gard, president of the Palace of Versailles, a moment of silence and the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Choir will lead the crowd in singing “La Marseillaise.” Star staff
