Season 2 of Transparen­t will hit Shomi on Dec. 12. The acclaimed Amazon drama stars Jeffrey Tambor as a retired college professor transition­ing from a man to a woman. He won an Emmy for the role in September while creator Jill Soloway won one for directing.

Saeed Jaffrey, an Indian actor acclaimed for his roles in internatio­nal films including Gandhi, A Passage to India and My Beautiful Laundrette, has died at age 86 after collapsing at his London home from a brain hemorrhage. His other internatio­nal films included The Jewel in the Crown, Chicken Tikka Masala, The Man Who Would Be King and Death on the Nile.

The Dixie Chicks are ready to party in the U.S.A. The Grammy-winning group will kick off its DCX MMXVI World Tour on June 1 in Cincinnati. It wraps up the tour Oct. 10 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and includes two shows at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheat­re, June 21 and 22. Tickets go on sale Friday.

Former Tonight Show host Jay Leno is set to host the Nobel Peace Prize concert Dec. 11 at the Telenor Arena in Oslo, Norway. For the first time, the concert will be livestream­ed and available on YouTube.

Los Angeles prosecutor­s have charged a transient who they say attacked and threatened to kill actress Pauley Perrette with false imprisonme­nt by violence and making a criminal threat. David Merck, 45, was arrested shortly after the attack in Hollywood on the NCIS star. If convicted, Merck faces up to four years in state prison.
