The 6:41 to Paris, Jean-Philippe Blondel, translation Alison Anderson

-

Cecile, a 47-year-old entrepreneur, boards the 6:41 a.m. train back to Paris after spending the weekend with her elderly parents. She settles into a compartment and, soon, a man comes and sits beside her. She realizes it is Philippe, the man who unceremoniously dumped her 30 years ago. We readers eavesdrop on each of their interior monologues.
