Raccoon rides the rails from Union

-

Crawling past commuters, a raccoon hitched a ride on a GO train pulling out of Union Station at about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Riders evacuated the car, giving the creature a private ride to Aldershot, according to Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins.

The freeloader was captured in a photo posted to Twitter by a GO Transit safety officer before being removed by Burlington Animal Services. “GORocky has been safely removed from @GOTransit train at Aldershot. He’s been taken in for questioning,” Aikins tweeted.

Mayor John Tory joined in the Twitter response, tweeting: “I banished that raccoon. He knows why.”

GO tweeted back saying, “No raccoon dare oppose the Mayor!”
