Trump’s divisive brand of politics plays so well with his core constituency of right-wing/wrong-thing supporters, it keeps him leading in the polls. Most others see the real danger in the bill of goods this crass and brass billionaire has come peddling. With Trump the demagogue, it seems, one is left either agog or aghast. They are tired, scared, hungry, abused and they have so much to offer us.

Every generation has to choose: are you one of the comfortable majority who is fighting to help them survive, or are you closing your eyes, heart or your door? I am sure you will open your heart. Reportedly more than 30,000 Americans were killed last year by fellow citizens using easily purchased guns. We do not want to risk Americans wanting to immigrate to Canada or seeking refugee status bringing their violent tendencies to our shores.

We should also track all those Americans who have already entered Canada to ensure they are not inciting hatred and violence against our fellow citizens.

Above all we should ban Mr. Trump, a religious bigot and hate monger, from preaching his brand of idiotic politics in Canada. Ken Beckim, Oshawa
