Game Day: Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors
Air Canada Centre
Tipoff: 7:30 p.m. TV: TSN 1, 4 and 5
Radio: TSN Radio 1050
Probable starters
Milwaukee: O.J. Mayo, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, Greg Monroe
Toronto: Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Terrence Ross, Luis Scola, Bismack Biyombo
Key matchup: Bismack Biyombo vs. Greg Monroe There’s no question that Biyombo will be up to the challenge of defending Monroe, Milwaukee’s nightly doubledouble threat (he averages 15.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game).
The question will be if the Raptors’ centre can continue to make contributions on the offensive end of the floor, and how much Monroe will allow that. Biyombo comes into Friday’s game with two consecutive games in double-digit scoring and is averaging 9.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in his last 10 games.
Need to know: Point guard Michael Carter-Williams has put up 10.4 points and 5.3 assists per game, but has done much of his damage coming off the bench for the Bucks the last seven games. He tied his seasonbest with 20 points in Wednesday’s loss to the Clippers ... True to coach Jason Kidd’s playing style, the Bucks spread the ball around on offence.
The team has six players averaging double digits, with a seventh, in Mayo, at 9.8 points per game. . . . The Raptors will look to continue their hot shooting Friday. In their win over San Antonio on Wednesday, they became the first Spurs opponent to shoot better than 50 per cent from the field (they shot 57.8 per cent) ... Raptors centre Lucas Nogueira practised on Thursday. He’s missed the last two games with an ankle injury, after a career night against Golden State ... The Raptors have won seven of their last eight meetings with the Bucks.
Next up: Sunday vs. Philadelphia, 6 p.m. Chris O’Leary
