The home’s owner, Joan Sutherland, says she and her family decided to move from the hustle and bustle of Toronto “to a neighbourhood that has small-town atmosphere.
“We chose Brooklin because it is a family-oriented community with many new schools and offers the convenience of commuting to work in Toronto,” Sutherland says. “The neighbourhood has many parks, walking trails, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, libraries and a hockey rink. We have enjoyed upgrading our home as the years went by, but now that our children are grown and on their own it is time for us to downsize,” Sutherland adds.
Just a few minutes drive to downtown Whitby, the community is 15 years old and has just over 1,000 homes designed in a Victorian-heritage style.
