Murder charge laid in Tevin James case
A 20-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Tevin James, 22, of Toronto — the city’s fifth homicide of 2016.
Police say an altercation took place between the men on Tuesday in Etobicoke. James was shot in the abdomen after being let into an apartment in the area of Lake Shore Blvd. and 11th St. at around 4 a.m. He later died in hospital. A post-mortem is scheduled for Saturday.
Frederick Leon, 20, of Toronto was arrested Thursday and faces 35 charges, including aggravated as- sault, robbery, 28 firearm and weapons-related charges, and five drugrelated charges. The charge of second-degree murder was laid Friday.
