Time singles out Canucks with Internet bling
Two Canadians join the likes of Barack Obama and Donald Trumpon Time Magazine’s 2016 list of the 30 most influential people on the Internet.
Toronto rapper Drake gets a nod for his “Hotline Bling” video. The Internet churned out enough GIFs, Vines and memes to help make the song the Raptors ambassador’s biggest hit. Indo-Canadian vlogger Lilly Singh, a.k.a. Superwoman, is the other Canuck on the list. She’s quickly becoming one of the biggest stars on YouTube, with more than eight million subscribers and 1.1 billion total views.
Other names on the list include rapper Kanye West, his wife Kim Kardashian, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling and Late Late Show host James Corden.
