Pope’s advice hard to take

-

Re World’s 1.2B Catholics mark Palm Sunday,

March 21 Understanding the Papal criticism of Europe for not welcoming an endless stream of migrants would be much easier were he to, say, donate a goodly portion of the Vatican’s wealth to either the migrants or those countries he chides for not taking in more than they already have.

It’s a little difficult to see someone who spends his life in rooms with gold gilded ceilings and more works of art than any king ever amassed deriding less fortunate countries for not doing more.

It’s very likely that the Pope no more wants to hear from us about saving our souls than we want to hear from him about international migrations of people and border controls. R. Michaels, Burlington
