This photo, shot amidst the chaos of collapsed temples in Basantapur Durbar Square two hours after the earthquake struck, appeared on front pages around the world the next day. “If I was looking a little bit to the right I would see another stretcher. If I was looking a little to the left I would have seen people clearing debris, searching for bodies . . . injured people, cows, people crying.”
