Five hurt after accident in Clarington

Atwo-vehicle collision in Clarington sent five people to hospital Tuesday afternoon.

A 69-year-old female driver of a Terrain sustained serious life-threatenin­g injuries, and a 16-year-old occupant of the car was also seriously injured. Both were airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto.

A 14-year-old female passenger in the Terrain was transporte­d to a local hospital with injuries. She was later transporte­d to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto with serious injuries.

The woman and male teen are in serious but stable condition.

A blue GMC Terrain going westbound on Taunton Rd. approachin­g Darlington Clarke Townline Rd. collided with a Dodge Ram pickup headed eastbound.

The male driver of the Dodge Ram pickup, 66, and his 59-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were both transporte­d to a local hospital.
