Hamilton man faces murder charge

A Hamilton man will be charged with first-degree murder after emergency crews found a woman dead at the scene of an apartment fire.

Hamilton police said firefighters were called to the blaze Sunday afternoon in an apartment building in downtown Hamilton.

Marylin Mitton, 65, was found inside without vital signs, police said. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

That evening, Hamilton police said they arrested 66-year-old Wayne Bell, who lives in the same building.
