I have a few objects that weigh from 1 to 40 ounces. Using a balance scale, what four weights can I use to weigh any object from 1 to 40 ounces (whole number weights only and including 1 and 40 ounces)? What is the least number of weights I would have to purchase of each of these four weights to accomplish my goal?
