Alouettes release Canadian QB Bridge

-

MONTREAL— The Alouettes cut Canadian quarterback Brandon Bridge on Monday. The 24-year-old QB, known as Air Canada, was used sparingly on short-yardage situations this season, carrying three times for two yards and a pair of touchdowns. The sixfoot-four Toronto native was pressed into action in his first CFL game in 2015 when starter Jonathan Crompton and backup Dan LeFevour were both injured in the season opener against Ottawa. That made him the first Canadian QB to play in the league since Danny Brannagan in 2010. He made his first career start in the final game of the regular season.
