Police seek public’s aid in shootings

-

Since July 29, Toronto police have issued seven requests to the public for assistance into shooting investigations. In four of them, there is no description of the suspects and they remain outstanding.

On July 28 at around 4:47 p.m., police responded to a call for gunshots in the Eglinton Ave. W. and Oakwood Ave. area, where there were reports of two suspects shooting a man, who was bleeding heavily.

The victim did not remain at the scene, his identity is unknown and the two shooters that fled remain at large, police said.

Last Monday at around 3:30 a.m., police responded to a report that a 30-year-old man and his friend in the Bathurst and College Sts. area were shot at by unknown suspects. The 30-year-old man was struck once in the chest and walked to a nearby hospital, where he was treated.

On Aug. 5 at around 9:25 p.m., shots were fired on Eleanor Ave., west of Oakwood Ave. and Vaughan Rd. A driver of a vehicle northbound on Oakwood was nearly hit, said police.

On Aug. 6 about 4:40 a.m., police received reports of gunshots, once again in the Eglinton Ave. W. and Oakwood Ave. area. Police arrived and found shell casings but no victims. Police report that shortly after, two people arrived at separate hospitals with gunshot wounds and received treatment. Police believe the last two shootings are connected.
