Mountie shooting suspect found dead

Police say a man suspected of shooting a Mountie in B.C. has been found dead. RCMP spokesman Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said the man’s body was found near the southeastern B.C. community of Revelstoke on Wednesday, and the BC Coroners Service is now investigating his cause of death.

Investigators had been searching for 40-year-old Sheldon Thunder-blanket since Tuesday when a female officer was shot in the arm after stopping a vehicle in a theft investigation on Highway 1.
