Magazine says reporter’s assault story backed up

-

People magazine is reporting that six people have come forward to corroborate a former writer’s account of allegedly being sexually assaulted by Donald Trump.

Natasha Stoynoff, who worked briefly for the Star in the early 1990s, published her story online last week, and it will feature in People on today. Stoynoff was interviewing the Trump family in 2005 on the grounds of their Florida estate while working for the magazine.

In her account of the alleged attack, Stoynoff describes how, “within seconds (Trump) was pushing me against the wall and forcing his tongue down my throat,” when they walked into a room alone.

“You know we’re going to have an affair, don’t you?” she said he told her afterward. Trump has denied the accusations. People posted a story Tuesday quoting six of Stoynoff’s friends who confirmed the writer told them about the alleged attack soon after it happened.

Liza Herz, who met Stoynoff in college, said she was with her friend when she ran into Melania Trump in the weeks after the attack.

Marina Grasic, friends with Stoynoff for 25 years, told People she got a phone call from her friend the next day and that she detailed everything.

Paul McLaughlin, Stoynoff’s former journalism professor, told the Star her story hasn’t changed since she told him about the alleged attack shortly after it happened. And Stoynoff’s colleagues Liz McNeil, Mary Green and Liza Hamm also confirmed that she had confided in them shortly after the incident.

People’s editor-in-chief said other women have come forward with similar stories, but “it is unclear how many other women there might be.” Star staff and wire services
