-

Director Nadia Ross of the Outaouais/Ottawa region has won this year’s $100,000 Siminovitch Prize for excellence in Canadian theatre.

The founder and artistic director of STO Union picked up the prize Friday at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, beating out four other directors.

As a part of the prize, she receives $75,000 and another $25,000 to give to a protege of her choice.

Organizers say her chosen protegees are Sarah Conn and Shaista Latif, who will share the $25,000 between them.
