GO WITH YOUR GUT

-

Quiet your mind. To connect with your unconscious, Mossbridge suggests going for a run, or meditating or another solitary activity allowing you to listen to your intuition with a clear head.

Write it down. When your intuition brings up particular feelings about a decision you’re making, make a note of it, Mossbridge says. “And write down rational feelings, and see if they match,” she adds.

Don’t ignore logic. Certain situations might be more suited to thoughtful deliberation and procon lists than just intuition alone, Mossbridge notes, like a cop trying to determine how to approach a suspect or a politician deciding whether or not to go to war.

Use an app. Mossbridge’s Choice Compass app helps you make decisions by analyzing your heart rhythm, so you can literally “listen to your heart.”
