Tesla dials Model X to a whole new level

This electric car debuted at the 2016 SEMA show

Electric vehicles are starting to have a place at the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Making its public debut at the 2016 SEMA Show is the Unplugged Performance Tesla Model X, sporting a more aggressive design to match its performance. According to the company’s website, the Model X “upgrades work in harmony with the original aerodynamic package to help you stand out at the Supercharger and elevate the exterior with the sporty character that the X’s performance demands.”

The company offers all of its modifications a la carte, including its wheels, exterior body kit and brakes. The show car features 22-inch lightweight wheels produced in aerospace-grade forged aluminum and is designed and manufactured in the U.S. for the entire Model X range.

The wheels are also designed to work with the factory standard 22inch tires with custom colours and finishes available.

The exterior package really transforms the Model X’s design and consists of a front bumper, side skirt set and rear bumper. In addition, tuners can get themselves a rear deck-lid spoiler that also aids in reducing the low-pressure area of a trailing wake at the rear of the vehicle. Lastly, there’s a super light carbon ceramic front big brake kit that includes sixpiston calipers and stainless-steel braided lines. Modifying electrified vehicles has been quite popular in Japan for several years, and now U.S. tuners are also embracing the trend.
