Kanye West taken to hospital

Kanye West has been hospitalized after abruptly cancelling the last 21 dates of his national tour.

TMZ, quoting law enforcement sources, said West’s personal doctor called for an ambulance for his patient “Jim Jones,” who was suffering from temporary psychosis as a result of sleep deprivation and dehydration. Dr. Michael Farzam said his 39-year-old patient had tried to assault a staffer at his trainer’s gym, the website reported. Although “Jones” wasn’t violent, the doctor reportedly told police he might become violent when help arrived. West was reportedly handcuffed to a gurney for transport, which is standard procedure as part of a psychiatric hold. His wife Kim Kardashian had been expected to make her first public appearance Monday night since she was robbed at gunpoint last month in Paris, but did not show up at the Angel Ball, a charity event.
