Second-year Minnesota big man is a stud and already touted as having all-star potential. Valanciunas hasn’t many outstanding games lately.

Need to know: Early start thanks to the folks at TNT, who will broadcast the game to the United States … Former Minnesota head coach Sam Mitchell is scheduled to be in the building to do TV for the Canadian broadcast . . . Only visit of the season for Andrew Wiggins, who is averaging 22.2 points per game this season . . . With another game Friday, there’s always a chance the Raptors will rest Carroll and use him in Boston to end the back-to-back.
