Princess Diana’s sons commission statue
Prince William and Prince Harry have commissioned a statue of the late Princess of Wales for the gardens at Kensington Palace, the brothers announced Saturday.
Marking 20 years since the death of their mother, Diana, the princes said the “time was right to recognize her positive impact in the U.K. and around the world,” via a statement released by Kensington Palace.
The princes have formed a committee to privately raise funds for the statue and to help pick its sculptor. The princes hope the statue will be ready to unveil by the end of 2017.
