Re Probe into fatal crash doesn’t prompt a recall,

Jan. 20 I laughed a little reading the article about the Tesla autopilot and its future. The fact is that cars are still supposed to be driven by attentive people.

I have an early model of a corrective autopilot in my car. It is called a “wife.” A sudden intake of breath or a rapid-start movement to my right informs me that I must have done something the autopilot doesn’t approve and I must look at correcting. I do have the power to override this recommende­d correction at my personal risk of a discussion that is usually best avoided. Bill Paterson, Emsdale, Ont.
