Gut takes downhill, Vonn crashes again

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, ITALY— Lara Gut, the defending World Cup champion, won Saturday’s downhill, while star Lindsey Vonn crashed in the same part of the course for the second straight day. Having won a downhill last weekend in just her second race back from nearly a year lost to knee and arm injuries, Vonn was expecting to add to her record total of 11 wins in Cortina — with boyfriend Kenan Smith, a football coach, on hand to watch for the first time.
