Arrest made in teen human trafficking case

A Toronto man has been arrested in a sexual-assault and human-trafficking investigation involving a 16-yearold girl.

Toronto police said the victim was recruited last October. The man at- tempted to control the girl with “threats and intimidation,” police said in a release. The victim was taken to hotels and photographed nude.

The girl attempted to flee, but was found and sexually assaulted, investigators said. She eventually escaped.

Michael Okoaki, 26, faces 12 charg- es, including sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, child pornography and trafficking offences.
