Arrest warrant for U.S. man in Nazi case
A court has issued an arrest warrant for a U.S. man sought in a Nazi massacre, opening the way for Poland to seek his extradition.
The man has been identified as 98year-old Michael Karkoc, an ex-commander in an SS-led unit that burned Polish villages and killed civilians during the Second World War.
Prosecutors said this week that evidence showed Michael K. was a commander of a unit in the SS-led Ukrainian Self Defence Legion that raided eastern Poland’s villages in July1944.
