Latimer officially takes the helm of the organization on April 3.

“Jeffrey is a seasoned entrepreneur with a passion for creativity and vision. He is the right individual to elevate this brand and spearhead the organization moving forward,” said board chair Lewis Rusen.

“We have the opportunity to build on the amazing 19-year history of Canada’s Walk of Fame, open new doors and build strong partnerships for the future,” Latimer said in a statement. “With so much pride in Canada this year with the 150th celebrations — and so many extraordinary Canadians making a difference in the world — this is the perfect time for me and my team to take the helm.”

Since 1998, Canada’s Walk of Fame holds an annual gala to honour notable Canadians in the arts, sports and other disciplines. Their names are commemorated on star-emblazoned plaques found on sidewalks throughout the city’s Entertainment District. Star staff
