Assad’s regime must go
Re Say goodbye, baby: Syrian father tearfully bids farewell to twins after chemical attack, April 6 Bashar Assad is a heinous criminal who will continue to kill innocent people with impunity if he is not stopped. I am no fan of U.S. President Donald Trump but applaud his use of military action against this inhumane regime that continues to rain daily terror on its poor citizens. Hopefully this will nudge Assad into leaving his self-imposed dictatorship and run for cover in the darker reaches of Siberia. Trump has signalled to the world that he is capable of empathy for “beautiful babies” that are non-American and is capable of quick and decisive action when required.

We knew it was coming. Donald Trump’s erratic volatile personality and his super-ego meant that sooner or later he’d launch the U.S. into new conflicts. Now that he’s justly punished the evil Assad regime for its use of chemical weapons, all is forgiven. He’s no longer the malicious incompetent fraud. He’s the world’s hero. And who can argue that? No matter that it’s his wannabe friend, Putin, who is the real force behind the many heinous, unconscionable atrocities of Assad. If not for Russia, Assad would have been removed years ago.

Trump’s missile strike on Syria’s airbase has served a dual purpose. While teaching Assad a lesson that has long been overdue, it has also served to soften his administration’s criticism of the “Russian connection,” while giving his popularity a boost.
