Fahmy makes us proud to be Canadian
Re Qatar behind state-sponsorship of terrorism, April 11 A reading of Mohamed Fahmy’s damning article on Qatar goes a long way to explain why the Canadian investigative journalist spent so much time in the Scorpion Prison in Egypt.
This column cites concrete facts, from top to bottom. Every paragraph unveils another flabbergasting example of the duplicity of this renegade country. Qatar harbours high-profile terrorists who openly call for attacks on Western targets.
Fahmy is a brave man to name names and quote people with knowledge of Daesh. He makes us proud to be Canadian. He has seen hell from the inside and yet he continues to fight for what is right and just. Hugh McKechnie, Newmarket
Mohamed Fahmy’s depth of knowledge on terrorism is nothing short of amazing. The countries involved and names of the principle players, along with the dates and places is impressive.
My understanding of state-sponsored terrorism is negligible. It would be interesting to hear Mr. Fahmy’s views on why people want to spend billions of dollars perpetuating such horrific acts of violence on others. The genesis of such barbarism is not without purpose. Nicholas Kostiak, Tottenham, Ont.
