Justin Williams has an obvious knack for scoring game-winning goals in the playoffs. Williams, who had the overtime winner for the Capitals in Game 5, joined Marion Hossa as the only active players to score a postseason game-winner with four teams. Williams also did it with Los Angeles (four times), Carolina and Philadelphia . . . In Games 5-7 of a series, Williams has 36 points (16 goals) in 44 games and his teams have gone 26-18 … Tom Wilson, who scored the overtime winner in Game 1 and added two more goals in Game 4, took four penalties in Game 5 and was benched by coach Barry Trotz before he could take a fifth. THE LEAFS The Toronto power play, which was second in the league during the regular season, went 0-for-4 Friday and is in the middle of the pack among playoff teams. The Leafs are tied for 14th of the 16 teams in penalty-killing percentage (66.7 per cent) . . . The Leafs, from coach Mike Babcock to all the players, have stressed the importance of “getting off to a good start.” Yet they have fallen behind two goals in the first five minutes the last two games . . . Toronto is 57-55-4 all-time in playoff overtimes and 20-23-0 in playoff overtimes on the road. This is the first series in which the Leafs have played four overtimes since the 1951 Cup final, which they won 4-1 over Montreal. DID YOU KNOW? The Leafs are 6-15 in best-of-seven playoff series when trailing 3-2 through five games. UP NEXT Tuesday, Game 7 (if necessary), at Washington, 7 p.m.
