Crane rescue a test of mettle

-

Re Two saves in one day, April 27 What a textbook rescue demonstration by acting Toronto Fire Department Captain Rob Wonfor and his team. It’s a clear example of the kind of mettle our fire (and police and emergency services) personnel possess in a city always very demanding of their bravery. Marty Fruchtman, Toronto Shouldn’t thrill-seekers, who inevitably have to be rescued by all sorts of pricey professionals, be legally responsible for the costs of what it takes to bring them back to safety?

The costs of time, professional help, etc., probably cost in the tens of thousands of dollars. This isn’t some phoney reality show, this is real life. If you want to walk the high wire and have all the attention that goes with it, join the circus. Douglas Cornish, Ottawa
