New Polanski film joins Cannes slate
Roman Polanski’s new film, his first in four years, has been added to the lineup for next month’s 70th anniversary edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
Titled Based on a True Story, it stars Emmanuelle Seigner and Eva Green in a drama adapted from the eponymous novel by Delphine de Vigan.
The film will notably have its world premiere outside of the Palme d’Or competition, likely at Polanski’s request.
But Cannes has also added a 19th Palme contender: Ruben Ostlund’s dark satire The Square, starring Elisabeth Moss of TV’s Mad Men and The Handmaid’s Tale.
