Steven Souza leads the Rays in runs (14), hits (29) and RBIs (17) in 23 games. Jose Bautista, on the other hand, was hitting just .145 (11-for-76), with one home run, before Thursday’s doubleheader in St. Louis. He warmed up a little bit on the road trip with three multi-hit games, his first of the season. NEED TO KNOW Tampa Bay won the first series between the clubs 3-1 in early April . . . Watch for Aaron Sanchez, currently on the 10-day disabled list with a blister problem, to be back with the Jays, and in the starting rotation, as early as Sunday.
