Romo takes shot at U.S. Open spot
ALEDO, TEXAS— A month after the Dallas Cowboys quarterback retired from the NFL, Tony Romo was among nearly 9,500 golfers who signed up for the U.S. Open. He’ll play an 18-hole local qualifier on Monday at Split Rail Links and Golf Club about 30 minutes west of Fort Worth. If he advances from there, the next step is sectional qualifying on June 5. In 2010, he made it out of local qualifying in 2010 then withdrew from the next round after multiple weather delays.
