Man convicted in Jane Creba killing faces drug charges in Kingston
A man convicted of manslaughter in the 2005 Boxing Day shooting death of Jane Creba has been charged with trafficking drugs in Kingston, Ont. with only one day left on his parole.
Kingston Police arrested Louis Raphael Woodcock, 30, Wednesday night and charged him with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and posses- sion of proceeds of crime.
According to a police release, Woodcock was serving the remainder of his previous sentence in a community corrections facility, where conditions of his parole included not consuming, purchasing or possessing any non-prescribed medication or over-the-counterdrugs. His parole was scheduled to end Thursday.
However, on Wednesday, Kingston Police’s Street Crime Unit “formed grounds to arrest Woodcock for trafficking drugs.” Officers arrested Woodcock as he was driving on Bath Rd. near Queen Mary Rd. and, during a search, found over $3,000 and multiple cell phones.
Officers executed a search warrant at his home about an hour later and found marijuana, a digital scale, cellophane baggies, multiple cell phones and “various drug paraphernalia (used) for distribution.”
Woodcock was scheduled to appear in court Thursday for a bail hearing. Woodcock was one of four men convicted in the notorious 2005 Boxing Day shootout in downtown Toronto that killed 15-year-old Creba, an innocent bystander, and wounded other passersby. He was sentenced to 12 years for manslaughter and eight years concurrent for four counts of aggravated assault; in 2011, he was sentenced to another four years less 10-months in pre-trial custody for unrelated crimes.
